EL Tracks at Newton Jct
Title:  EL Tracks at Newton Jct
Description:  Looking east along the former EL ROW (EL tracks were removed in 1981 and relaid in 1991) where Newton Jct once was. This line is now used by the Heritage Line, which operates from a refinery in Laketon and delivers oil tankers over to the former Bolivar Jct, where trains on the NS Marion Branch pick them up now.

Newton Rd. Crossing Sign
Title:  Newton Rd. Crossing Sign
Description:  I have relatives who own the fields in this area, so they let us go back on four wheelers and explore the PRR ROW where it met with the Erie at Newton Jct. We were heading back to their house when my aunt showed us an old, overgrown RXR sign behind the brush where Newton road once was.

Former SR15 Bridges Site
Title:  Former SR15 Bridges Site
Description:  Looking east from atop the remaining westbound track bed. The SR15 bridges once stood here, and a deep dip in the highway passed under them. When the bridges were removed in the 1980s, the fill from the ROW was used to level the area again. If you look into the distance here, you can see where the westbound bed picks up again.

EL Signal Tower
Title:  EL Signal Tower

When the single-track mainline reached this signal tower fro the east, it split into two tracks and continued as a two-track mainline to the west. Taken with permission by the landowner.

EL Signal Tower
Title:  EL Signal Tower
Description:  Close-up detail of the signal tower. The landowner seemed a little hesitant to let me back since he said several people hes allowed baci there have taken signal hardware. Unfortunately, that can be seen in some of these detail shots. Im the kind of person who leaves features like that alone though, luckily.
