Description:  Standing almost like a railroad headstine at a cemetery, the NKP coal tower still stands. A local told me ithat due to the massive concrete walls and the qualoty of the concrete itself, tearing it down would be cost prohibitive for the limited value of its land. So its stands - probably way after the roundiouse has fallen.

Description:  The last time we visited this Nickel Plate Road roundhouse ten years ago, there were great plans of restoring it as a museum. Sadly, those plans must have fallen through like much of the roundhouse roof has.
