Back in Butler, I got another "usually evening" move in NS 25N, which featured a solo BNSF GE on the front. After the full introduction of PSR, NS flopped some of the intermodal traffic symbols to different terminals. NS 25/26N come from the UP now whereas NS 22/23K come from BNSF. Despite it being a train bound for UP tracks, a BNSF unit found its way on the front. |

After NS 26E cleared CP 359, NS 181 got the light to come down on the Huntington District. I successfully grabbed the train passing the trilights that guard the south side of the diamond. This is the first time Ive been brave enough to shoot a train coming by these signals as the guy who lives across the tracks from where this was taken is not very fond of railfans and will run them off. I timed my moves just right and got what I was looking for. |

It was a pretty short day for the local, but at least it meant it wouldnt be coming back completely backlit like it usually does. I decided since it was a nose forward GP60 I was going to walk down to the trilights to get a better shot than I would from the side like I did with NS 206 in the morning. If I wouldve known it had no cars with it I wouldnt have tried something that daring or special, but Im happy with it anyway! |
