Description:  Exact date is unknown. Scanned from a 11x17 print dated circa 1912, obtained from Antique America, Davenport, Iowa. BLW 2-8-2 #2566 Class K57 in foreground retired in 1940 and #1639 in background appears to be a Brooks 2-8-0 Class C39 built in 1903 or 1904. This per "Rock Island Motive Power 1933-1955" by Lloyd E. Stagner book.

Description:  Chicago, Rock Isalnd & Pacific #2579 was built by Alco-Brooks in May of1918. Specs - K-60 class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 332,230 lb and tractive effort of 63,467 lb. The loco was retired and sold for scrap in October of 1948 No date was given for the photo but the photographer was R. H. Carlson.

Title:  CRIP 2-8-2 #2682 - Chicago, Rock Isalnd & Pacific
Description:  This was one of approximately 240 2-8-2 Mikados on the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific roster. Built by Alco-Brooks in June of 1926, this loco was a central player in both passenger and freight service. Specs - K-64b, 63" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 355,000 lb and tractive effort of 68,227. With a booster added the te went up 11,244 lb more. The loco was retired and sold for scrap in October of 1952 after nearly 26 years of service. No date was given for the phoot which was taken by R.H. Carlson.

Description:  Built by Alco-Brooks in September of 1923 as CRIP 2-8-2 #2655, the loco served for nearly 27 years. Specs - K-64 class, 63" drivers, 200psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 338,200 lb, and tractive effort of 63,467 lb. With a booster added in 1931, it increased the te by 10,460 lb and with a stoker added, the weight was 347,100 lb. After nearly 27 years of service, the loco was retired and sold for scrap in Decembeer of 1950. This is an R, H. Carlson photo.

Description:  Interesting "box-like" tender is a variation not usually seen on a Mikado. CRIP 2-8-2 #2698 was built by Alco-Schenectady in April of 1927. Specs - 63" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 355,600 lb and tractive effort of 68,227 lb. With an added booster, the te increased by 11,244 lb and when it was converted to an oil burner, the engine weight became 350,500 lb. The loco was retired and sold for scrap in January of 1953.
