NW SD40-2 1650 and a caboose sit on the ex-Nickel Platte tracks in Madison, IL. Taken in the fall of 1982. These tracks were next to the CNW yard. By the 1980s it was used only for car storage with 89 ft flatcars being common. On a rare occasion there would be power there (sometimes left overnight). |
