Only four months before this photo date, this locomotive had a high short hood and the CB&Q Mars light. I will speculate that this might be a wreck repair, the BN was rather frugal and generally did not chop hoods unless absolutely necessary. |

They were 60 foot (64 foot 5 inches outside length) long, 153,000 pound capacity, and had a cast steel underframe. There were two Notes listed: Note 21 - Cars in the 66000 to 66024 and 66100 to 66244 have inside length of 59 feet between inset end stake pockets and 60 feet over end sills, and inside width of 9 foot 4 inches between recessed stake pockets and 10 foot 6 inches over decking.
