WTRY 0-4-0T #2 - Wilmington Marine Terminal Rwy
Description:
Here is a rare photo of the diminutive Wilmington Marine Terminal Rwy 0-4-0 tank steam locomotive #2. According to the info on the back of this original photo, it was built by Alco in 1918. Although I couldn't track down (no pun intended) its exact builder info, I'm fairly certain that it was built by the Cooke Locomotive & Machine Works in neighboring Patterson, NJ. A note on the back of the photo states "Last steam eng. In Del. Retired 1958." No photographer was listed and no exact day in June of 1958 was given.

Description:
Personal PC. Here is a postal card entitled "Wilmington, Delaware." Postmarked: 25 July 1961. Sent to me by Lois (Burket) Ayers, my mother. Caption On Reverse: "From Brandywine Park can be seen the present B & O bridge that was built in 1910. Ten years later, the old railroad bridge (which can be seen through the arches) was converted into a crossing highway for use by the public and is now known as Augustine Cut-Off Bridge. The original swing span was replaced by the more substantial suspension bridge that serves Wilmington today. Just below it is the old swinging foot bridge that crosses Brandywine Creek. Ektachrome by Ed Kennedy."

PRR 4800, GG-1, c. 1961
Description:
Old Rivets./ Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4800 and #4887. Both are GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric locomotives rated at 4,620 horsepower each. #4800 was built by General Electric as number "4899" during August of 1934, renumbered "4800" in November of 1934, and presently on dispoay at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. In this photo, it looks to me like "Old Rivets" is deadlined. What's missing? Engine #4887 was built in Juniata during April of 1939. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
