The Circumstances Behind This Situation Are Incredibly Sad and Tragic. |

At the direction of RTC, A447 is stopped in Stroebe Siding on the Fox River Sub. Rail traffic in Appleton was stopped in the afternoon of May 20th for the funeral of an Appleton firefighter. Driver/Engineer Mitch Lundgaard was tragically shot and killed while responding to a medical call with the Appleton Fire Department. On this Monday, the procession to Appleton Alliance Church crossed the railroad and CN halted all rail traffic. Later in the evening, a procession from the church consisted of over 200 police, fire, EMS, first responder vehicles from all across Wisconsin and surrounding states. It was a very sad and moving sight. |
