I passed over this eastbound train 422 where the QEW Highway crosses the CN Stamford sub, and decided to see if I could get ahead of it for a pic in the sunshine - but I didn't get there in time to set up for a good shot. So I had to settle for this grade crossing shot at Clifton Wye - with a rather sharp looking Dash-8 on the point. The tracks in the foreground lead to the now closed CN Niagara Yard, and the Niagara Falls train station. Only AMTK and GO Transit use this section of track now. |

It's #99 - the Wayne Gretzky train - AMTRAK style - churning up the fresh snow as it rounds the big bend at Clifton Wye enroute to New York City. This is the first time I've seen this train with two locomotives fronting its usual 5 coaches. Just wondering if they didn't add this loco for a little backup in case of the unpredictable snow conditions. |
