Title:  Still Got It
Description:  The old-school UP paint on these SD60s is rather faded, but as a 1980s classic myself, it's good to see them in service. UP still has all but one (a wreck write-off) of the original 85 units they ordered from EMD, although they have been renumbered from their original 6000-series. At one point they rostered an additional 55 acquired as part of the C&NW merger, but those have since been sold off. They are a bit difficult to find in the Midwest, those based in the Twin Cities area seldom venture east of Adams in Wisconsin and almost never appear on the east-west main (Geneva Sub) out of Proviso. Not sure where on the vast UP system the rest of these units hide out.

Description:  Union Pacific's Winona-Adams and Adams-Winona wayfreights (LTA-42 and LTA-41, respectively) are almost unique among freight trains in Wisconsin for still using a caboose on a daily basis. This is due to a shove move they have to make to access UP's isolated yard in Winona, and the car is not staffed while the train is on the road.
