'17. Train was returning from Waupaca, WI. The clumps of trees to either side of the locomotive mark the former site of a steam locomotive servicing facility. If the direction of view in the photograph (http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/Content.aspx?dsNav=N:4294963828-4294963814&dsRecordDetails=R:IM24898) on the Wisconsin Historical Society website is labeled accurately, a coaling tower and other structures stood to the left of the train. A water tower and other structures stood to the right. Remnants of the foundations on the right side are still in place, remnants on the left side were demolished in May of this year. |

My friend and I stopped in Medina Junction and we were greeted by a northbound autorack train. On the lead was a brand new CN 100 Year locomotive. Little did we know this would be the first of the many sightings wed have of the 100 Year Anniversary locomotives. |
