It was hard to hold the camera steady- the 2053 has a very loud horn, and the engineer was laying on it heavily for this crossbuck-only crossing. Out of the shot to my left and right are many UW-Madison students darting across the tracks in front of the train. They're familiar with the prospect of being slightly delayed by the switching moves here and would rather walk in front of a moving train and it's blaring horn than wait a minute or so. |
