Chapel Car Diner Door
Title:  Chapel Car Diner Door
Description:  This is the "kitchen side" of the car because the kitchen stove was on this side. (It's now, and probably forever the northeast side of the car.) You are looking at the opened up bottom half of the doorway that was cut in her when she was a diner sitting on the ground. The museum staff calls the other side the "Baker side" because the Baker Stove, which was to heat the car was on that side, and was in the now far southwest corner of the car. It may have worked reasonably on eastern coal, but not on western coal. Recall that the car was built by Barney & Smith of Dayton, Ohio. The Baptist parsons, and especially their wives, complained bitterly about the stove's heating ability. Well, at least they surely weren't in hell!

Eastern Railway & Lumber Co 1
Title:  Eastern Railway & Lumber Co 1
Description:  Lima Three Truck Shay Built in 1904. This Three Truck Shay was built for the Newhouse Mines & Smelter Company in Utah. It hauled copper ore from the Cactus Mine on the Newhouse Copper Gulch & Sevier Railway.Ten years later the mine played out the locomotive was sold first to Cramer Kay Machinery Company of Salt Lake City, then to Eastern Railway & Lumber Company in Centralia, WA to haul log trains. In 1942 the company names changed to S. A. Agnew Lumber Company & the #1 continued to haul logs until the railway was abandoned in 1951. No. 1 was stored at a sawmill until it was donated in 1964 & moved to the Northwest Railway Museum in 1969.

Kennecott Copper Co 201
Title:  Kennecott Copper Co 201
Description:  No 201 is a RSD-4 built by Aloc for Kennecott Copper Company. Kennecott used it in the company's Nevada & Utah mining operations to pull trains of ore to the smelter. Kennecott donated 201 to Northwest Railway Museum in 1984. The museum give it a thorough mechanical overhaul. It remains fully operational & regularly pulls trains on the museum's Snoqualmie Valley Railroad.
