Description:  Q580 descends Cumberland Mountain on a rainy spring Saturday. This location is between MP 88 and MP 89 and about 100 yards north of where the old Tracy City Branch right of way splits away from the Chattanooga Sub main. The branch was abandoned in 1985.

Description:  Q583 assaults the north slope of Cumberland Mountain between MP J88 and J89. In about a half mile the train will enter the Cowan Tunnel. The gravel path to the left of the train is the old Tracy City Branch (a.k.a. the "Mountain Goat"). The two lines right of ways split at this location, with the Tracy City branch looping around and crossing over the main line on a bridge at the north portal of the tunnel and continuing up the mountain to Sewanee, Monteagle, Tracy City, Coalmont, and Palmer. The branch was removed in 1985.

Description:  H281, the Cowan Pushers, are on the rear of Q583 as the assist it over Cumberland Mountain's north slope. The pushers will lay over at Sherwood on the south side of the mountain and wait for the next northbound that needs assistance. The old Tracy City Branch right of way is seen splitting off to the right before looping around and crossing the main line at the north portal of the tunnel, located roughly a half-mile from this location.
