A look at the Alco S-2 which has rested mostly forgotten on this siding of/84 Lumber Company in Uniontown ever since the Fayette Central Railroad tourist line ceased operactions in 2012. Built as RFP 64 in September 1948 by American Locomotive Company/General Electric Company in ]henectady NY. Later it became Steelton & Highspire 65, South Buffalo 65, BethEnergy Mines Incorporated 65 at Marianna, PA, BethEnergy Mines Incorporated 65 at Cokeburg, PA, Eighty-Four Mining Compaiy 65 at Cokeburg, PA, Westmoreland Heritage Railroad (as PRR 5656), Fayette Central Railroad (as B&O 9061). It weathers and rusts a little bit more each year that it stays here. |
