A paint scheme even more rare than Conrail blue. Only three C40-8s on CSX still have this paint left, and this is the first one I ever photographed. I heard the number on the scanner at home and had a hunch that I should look it up on the computer and see what kind of paint it has. I am glad I did. So then I went out for a drive on a mission to find it before it left the area. Nothing in Broadford. Nothing at the Sodem signals. Nothing in the west end of the yard downtown. The last option was Greene Junction and I did not immediately see it here either. Just as I was ready to leave I finally see Q352-19 emerge from within the yard. It has been a good run with finding things like this lately, and I hope it continues. Update: CSX 7587 was repainted nto the YN3/Dark Future paint in 2012. Then in 2016 it was retired from CSX. |
