Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6815, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in June of 1959 after 33 years of service. It's pulling a merchandise freight train from Enola to Altoona and points West. A portion of US Route 22 ~ the "William Penn Highway" ~ is also visible.

The head-end brakeman has made the cut between the tender, and will soon throw the switch so as to pick-up the boxcar on the left.

Description:  Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) of a photo by Frank Tatnall that was taken in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, c. 1961. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5787 and two "BF" Class B-units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #5787 was constructed as a BP-20 rated at 2,000 horsepower in December of 1948, later regeared and reclassified as a BF-16Z rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in September of 1962 after just 14 years of revenue service. They're about to pass through the Huntingdon Passenger Station with a manifest freight train bound for Conway.

Description:  WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Harrisburg to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here is the long-disused PRR Ice Planu near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. In the good ol' days when refrigerator cars used ice ~ instead of gasoline ~ to keep their cargos cold, eastbound produce trains would stop here to replenish before continuing on to their East Coast destinations.
