Both of these images are of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #573, a D-3 (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during December of 1872, then sent to the Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad and renumbered "56" in June of 1883. In 1876, this locomotive was assigned to pull the Jarrett & Palmer Theatrical Train out of Jersey City.

No. 5011 was one of the few, and very likely the only, E-3sd's to retain the old style cylinders while being equipped with the new steel pilot beam." #5011 is an E-3SD (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as an E-3D during 1910, rebuilt as an E-3SD in June of 1913, and retired in April of 1940.
