Engine #70 pulling up to get serviced at Mineral.
Title:  Engine #70 pulling up to get serviced at Mineral.
Description:  At Mineral, the locomotive is decoupled from the coaches and serviced. It then runs around the back end couples back on to what had been the rear of the train and backs down the mountain with the coaches in tow, back to the station at Elbe.

Coaches
Title:  Coaches
Description:  For the first run in the morning, the locomotive of the day makes a deadhead run down the mountain from Mineral to Elbe, hooks on to however many coaches they are taking that day, and then pulls them all back to where the locomotive came from in the first place.

Ex-NP F-9
Title:  Ex-NP F-9
Description:  This is an operable F-9, obviously obtained from the Northern Pacific. They use this one about once a month to pull the passenger coaches and also as a hostler locomotive to move the rolling stock around the yard and also to take a tank car down the mountain to bring it back up full of water for the steam locomotives. Although it is great to see in action, I was told by one of the volunteers at Mineral that running the F-9 is rather a pain due to the lack of visibility, especially going in the backwards direction down the hill.

Not sure what this is.
Title:  Not sure what this is.
Description:  I supposed it qualifies as being something run on rails, although the rails look like they might be in danger of rolling away when needed.
