Album Info:The Birmingham Terminal Railway's fire breathing dragon logo is a perfect representation of the industrial & energy sectors that are served by the Alabama Railroad. Formerly known as the Birmingham Southern Railroad, the 75.9 mile line provides service to more than 30 Customers in Birmingham. The Railroad has the district advantage of access to barge traffic via Port Birmingham Terminal which is located on the Black Warrior River. The Black Warrior River is part of the Tenn-Tom Waterway which empties out into the Gulf of Mexico at Mobile, Al. & provides the BHRR with the ability to ship commodities to & from all parts of the world. The Birmingham Terminal Railway ( BHRR ) connects to 3 Class 1 Railroads, BNSF, CSX, & NS. In addition to providing freight service the Railroad boasts a mechanical & locomotive shop located in Fairfield, Al.

Description:  BHRR Taconite Train BH-1 General smokes it up as the engineer gives his 3 SD40-2's more throttle after having just departed East Thomas Yard after BNSF interchanged a U-KEEBIR Taconite Train to BHRR at East Thomas Yard, the BHRR comes over from Ensley, Al. to bring empties when needed, but sometimes runs light engines if BNSF doesnt need anything from BHRR, the Taconite is brought to Flint Ridge by BHRR for U.S. Steel, at one time this business was handled by Birmingham Southern Railroad which was bought out by WATCO last year

BNSF runs these taconite trains as U-KEEBIR & U-SEMBIR, sometimes an empty coal train gets delivered as a U-EOLBIR & gets loaded at Ensley or Birmingport & gets sent back north to Eola, Illinois loaded with coal, its an unusual move where coal goes north loaded, but usually runs south loaded & north empty
