The location is shown on most maps as Stillings; the railroad called it Kirmeyer; in steam days the CGW had a two-stall enginehouse and wye here to turn its huge 2-10-4s, which wern't allowed any further west. When this picture was taken the CNW and BN still used the line; it was abandoned by both in 1987. |

It's shown here two years prior to that with its fans and exhaust already missing as well as blanked cab windows and in need of nose paint. As far as I can tell it was in KC headed to Mid America Car, who would repaint it and remove the center porthole- a configuration it had in later yers. |
