Album Info:Traveled to Ashland, KY. to conduct some training for work. Had a few hours afterwards before driving back to Louisville (where I live). Pics were taken in and around Ashland.

Northbound unit coal train running through Catlettsburg, KY. on Dec. 21, 2011, behind CSX 849. Train is passing below one of the new signal bridges recently installed by CSX, to replace the really cool old C&O signals that used to be here.

Southbound empty coal train pulling out of Russell yard, just north of Ashland, KY. Camera was level, track wasn't!!!! Building visible on right side of photo is old C&O "RU" cabin. I think it's one of the very few left in the area, maybe the last one.
