Description:  In this 15 minute 44 second exposure we witness a pair of trains passing under the Ex-ATSF Signal Bridges at CP Gardner on the BNSF Emporia Sub. The train coming at the camera is a westbound, the one with the clear and lighting up the bridge was an eastbound. The westward move showed up about 5 minutes before the eastbound.

Title:  Eastbound BNSF Mixed Freight Train
Description:  The long-closed Elm Street Bridge over the BNSF Transcon also has its days numbered. The pilings for the bridge were actually constructed by the Santa Fe from 1886 Joliet rolled rail. It's been closed to vehicles for years, but has long been a great location to observe the Santa Fe and BNSF. Now, it's closed off with fencing on the road closed barricades, and marked with no trespassing signs and will allegedly be demolished by late 2012.

Description:  This is a bridge abutment near a Harrisonville City Park. It used to carry the Missouri Kansas Texas Railroad line over the road. This line used to be a cutoff route running between Sedalia, MO and Paola, KS, connecting the Katy Parsons-St. Louis line with the Kansas City-Parsons Line. The MKT abandoned this route almost entirely in 1958.

Title:  MP 13108 - Caboose
Description:  This caboose was repainted in late 2009 and early 2010. I helped out a little bit, and had a lot of fun. Before it was repainted it wore a mineral brown scheme with a large UP shield and was a downright eyesore by any Mo-Pac Fan's standards. This was originally built for the Texas & Pacific Railroad, and wore an incorrect road number while on display here for the past 20 years or so.

Description:  The CNW Heritage Locomotive comes through Kansas City Union Station UP Train AASFX 30, taking a routing over the KCT that many CNW trains took in the 1980s-1990s. One can imagine the eclectic consists that rolled through here with the ball and bar on the engines back in the day.
