Burlington Route SD9 with a camera
Title:  Burlington Route SD9 with a camera
Description:  This Burlington SD9 had a fun job to do on SRI's Own layout. Its task was to push a flatcar with a mini-camera mounted on top around the layout. The camera was constantly rolling, and whatever it saw was fed to a TV Set at one end of the layout, giving people a look at what you would see if you could ride a train on the layout. If you stood in the correct spot on the layout, you could see yourself on this TV. Fun!

Shell Oil Refinery
Title:  Shell Oil Refinery
Description:  This is on the SRI Layout. Note the Tank Car. Back in April of 2005, when this layout was just being assembled at SRI's Visitor Center, I donated a few pieces of rolling stock and locomotives that were in my collection to SRI. This tank car was one such piece of equipment. I'm glad to see it being put to good use!

Three way meet coming
Title:  Three way meet coming
Description:  The NYC Steam Powered train is about to be overtaken by the WC Powered train, and both are about to meet a local switch job running in the opposite direction. Also note the slow moving UP Passenger train on the lower level. I tried to take a picture of the meet occuring, but I didn't realized that the flash card in my camera was full until I pressed the shutter release only to get an error message instead of a picture! I hope you've enjoyed your visit (via these photos) to Tiny Train Days at the Steam Railroading Institute!!
