Description:  Railfans Nick Huth and Jim Selzer were inspecting the Meridian & Bigbee's shop at Meridian. M&B GP7 103 was originally Illinois Central 8951. This was one of the IC's first geeps and was the first IC geep to be retired. IC 8951 had been built in March 1951, was sold to the M&B in December 1964 and received a low nose at Paducah in August 1976.

Description:  A crewman on ICG 8000 steps outside to take in the sight and sounds of the northbound CRESCENT as it accelerates away from the Meridian depot. Amtrak No. 20 has E9's 408 and 420 sandwiching Southern E8 6905.

Title:  ICG Office and Freight House
Description:  This was the Illinois Central Gulf's former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio office and freight house along 22nd Avenue in Meridian, Mississippi. It had been built by the Mobile & Ohio in 1903 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on 18 December 1979. The building was slated for restoration, but was burned by vandals in 1994 and subsequently demolished.

Description:  This was the Illinois Central Gulf's former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio office and freight house along 22nd Avenue in Meridian, Mississippi. It had been built by the Mobile & Ohio in 1903 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on 18 December 1979. The building was slated for restoration, but was burned by vandals in 1994 and subsequently demolished.
