Description:  14 units that had been in storage were shoved over here by the roundhouse after 10 months of storage. The conductor on the job can be seen tying a handbrake on the 658. He told me KCS might be planning on scrapping and parting these out, or reselling some. Included in the line of engines is KCS 3240, a white ghost SD40-2, and KCS 3200, ex-KCS 637, which was the 1st SD40-2 ever built.

Elevation brought to you in part by a conveniently placed pile of ballast. These are probably my favorite units on the UP Roster these days--they look like MP SD40-2's and sound like Geeps.

Description:  Ex-B&O and CGW F-Units bask in the spotlight at Monticello. I was generally impressed with what NS did with them despite my unrelenting griping about them all day. They could have used a little more bondo, and ground off a couple more torch cuts, but they look better than they did with those square MARC pilots. They were fun to have on the Rail Cruise America Train out of St. Louis, but they've moved onto bigger things.
