Description:
Canadian Nationals yearly "Santa Train" parked for the night in Port Huron, MI, December 15, 2018. Now just after midnight! Photograph taken with permission. They are using Algoma Central "Agawa Canyon Tour Train" F40PHR #106 for power! This was cool seeing it in the fog. Friend "Mazon" Mason Dahlke photograph. Algers, Winslow & Western SD9!!!!
Description:
My only time I witnessed an old Algers, Winslow & Western SD9s! Taken at the Indiana Eastern Railroad yard, July 25, 2019. I also saw AWW SD9 #205 stored on an overgrown track and not being used. Indiana Eastern got a high hood GP38-2 that was being prepped for paint which they started using later in 2019. I do not know if AWW SD9 #206 is being used anymore, though a worker said it was going to be back up power to the GP38-2! It did not look like AWW 205 would run again, but hopefully! Recently though (March 2020), sister railroad Squaw Creek Southern scrapped the other two AWW SD9s (there were 4 total)! Glad I got two on this trip. Photo taken with permission. Algers, Winslow & Western SD9!!!!
Description:
My only time I witnessed an old Algers, Winslow & Western SD9 pulling a train, now going to park the engine! Taken at the Indiana Eastern Railroad yard, July 25, 2019. I also saw AWW SD9 #205 stored on an overgrown track and not being used there. Indiana Eastern got a high hood GP38-2 that was being prepped for paint at this time! They started using it later in 2019. I do not know if AWW SD9 #206 is being used. A worker said it was going to be back up power to the GP38-2! However, recently (March 2020) sister railroad Squaw Creek Southern scrapped the other two AWW SD9s (there were 4 total)! Glad I got two on this trip. Photo taken with permission.
