Album Info:I went down to Chicago late on the 13th, with the trip focusing primarily on the CSX, my favorite Class 1 railroad, and one that I've never been able to witness on home rails. Other focus points included the IHB and possibly some Iowa Interstate movements. These would be met, and many more unexpected surprises thrown in to make this trip a success. Also included are shots in Western Indiana on the NS and CSX, along with shots in Janesville, Wisconsin on the way back home. Hopefully you will enjoy this album as much as I enjoyed the trip!

First up is this CN movement on the old Trunk, seen here passing the only two target signals (or older style signals of any kind) left in existance here at Blue Island's diamonds. This was a land barge as well, easily over 160 cars!

So close!

Description:  After seeing this guy pull up to the light, we thought it was just a yard job taking head room. Wrong, upon zooming, we found it to be a pair of SD50's, and the lead unit is one of only 2 (I believe?) YN1 ones left. So I hurry back to the truck to grab my telephoto lens, and by the time I get back and set up, he is already heading back into the yard. Sadly this is the only shot I was able to get.

Title:  Heading back East
Description:  The next day I catch the sprayer heading back from which it came. Yet, 35 years ago it was at this same place being delivered to the Seaboard Coast Line. I will never know why time seems to rush by so fast, but after taking this shot I just stood back and watched this soldier head out of town, no doubt my last time seeing it, because this will also soon be the past.(Thanks to Kim Piersol for the photo of SCL 2049 when it was new!)
