Album Info:Various stages of degradation of the former EL are depicted here. As this area is close to home, I will be adding to this album periodically, stay tuned. Myself and many others earned a living in what has become a boneyard. Thanks for looking in on our past. Please also see my other EL Boneyard albums as well, thank you.

Title:  Crossbones.
Description:  Abandoned EL over an abandoned B&O track. The second track is active and to the right, behind the trees in the foreground, lies the east leg of the wye, which appears not to have been used for anything other than storing old rolling stock, for a few years now. See B&O Boneyard please, thanks.

Exchange St. bridge.
Title:  Exchange St. bridge.
Description:  EL east and westbounds as well as a 3rd rail that allowed access to Quaker Oats, seen directly above the bridge support all traveled under this bridge. The EL passenger depot was just behind and to the left of the bridge. Gone and replaced by a bank a few years ago. Along the CSX you can see the old passenger platform. B&O depot is owned by the University of Akron, as is Quaker Oats. For some years Quaker Hilton occupied the silos.

Former EL eastbound view toward Exchange St. bridge.
Title:  Former EL eastbound view toward Exchange St. bridge.
Description:  The fence contains the new transportation center. Metro, Greyhound and it is hoped that one day even passenger trains will stop here. The gabled roof building in front of the church belongs to the Akron Beacon Journal. We used to spot cars there on 2 tracks to the right of that building. There was a second building to the right of this one that had one more track to the right of it, closer to the main. All the way to the right is the former Quaker Oats building. Q on top. Used to go in there too.
