Album Info:Taken in May of 1972 when I was called to be a detour flagman.

EL 830 and sisters are crossing from track 1 back to track 2. Track and trains are long gone. The grain elevator has served as Hill & Griffith Co. since 1973. I saw it there a couple of years ago.

Occupying the crossover the eastbound eases back onto track 2. It's a hazy morning but the westbound is visible at the red semaphore at Rt 83.

More crossover action at Burbank. Fireman must be wondering why the detour flagman is in the weeds. It's not what you might think. I thought that this might somehow be a better vantage point.

The westbound just got my go ahead after the eastbound cleared the crossover. Notice the dropping semaphore. I placed this in the wreck catagory because of the maintainer's truck. Believe me, the rest didn't look any better.

My office for two weeks.
Title:  My office for two weeks.
Description:  The phone booth to the right was my contact with the outside world. Marion dispatcher Jack "Bull" Durham would outline my conductor's duties in Polk and in turn my duties as flagman here in Burbank. Gratefully, I could pull my car up to the booth and use my speakerphone. When I took this, I was not thinking about posting it anywhere 38 years later.
