Album Info:Today's pics come from Blue Island Crossing on a warm but not too hot overcast day. Right before I left, a car accident occurred when a seemingly drunk male rearended two females in the middle of the grade crossing as the lead car slowed down while crossing the tracks. The female's car went off the road and onto the IHB tracks where it stuck. Thankfully Blue Island PD responded quickly and a flatbed tow truck with a winch removed the car shortly thereafter. The tower operator was able to call the IHB to warn them but it didn't take long to clear the cars. The guy that rearended the two women was obviously drunk and accused them of slamming on the brakes which was not true, I witnessed the whole thing and he was going way too fast and wasn't paying attention to the car in front of him. I didn't stick around to see if they administered the field sobriety test but I hope they did. The two women were shaken up but seemingly fine after being hit pretty hard. Thankfully rail traffic was slow at the time otherwise this could have been a much bigger problem.

Notice how the car is hanging on the IHB track. The guy who hit them is standing on the other side of the truck on his cell phone and I firmly believe he was plastered. This could have been a lot worse if a train was coming...
