End of an Era
Title:  End of an Era
Description:  The last of CN's MLW/BBD fleet were retired in early 1998. That summer, most remained at Triage Taschereau. Later that year most of the M420s were parcelled off to new owners and many remain in service today. The HR616s did not fare so well, but the survivors were still rotting at NRE in Illinois at last report.

Last Shot of the First One
Title:  Last Shot of the First One
Description:  The first C424 was not built in Schenectady. Built as CPR 8300, later 4200, she rolled out of MLW in 1963. In this view, she sits with younger sister 4209 at St. Luc yard's south end, awaiting her final move- a transfer run to Century Locomotive in Lachine, where she'd be parted out and scrapped. For a time it was believed she would end up in the safe hands of the Canadian Ry. Museum, but the Museum got 4237 instead.
