The field in the foreground is a rice field that was harvested with a stripper header on a combine, which strips the grain head off, as opposed to cutting it off the stalk. You didn't think you were going to learn anything about farming when you started reading this caption, did you?

Description:  Coming past the Bunge Corp. Elevator with 5 NS Units was UP Train MNLAS 16 through a hard rain. Needless to say I grabbed some of my grandpa's rain gear after I took this shot, I was SOAKED! There was quite a variety of NS Power on this train, including NS 9253 which is an Operation Lifesaver 25th Anniversary Locomotive.

Description:  Backing up slowly through Bernie is UP Train ZYCHO 19 making a pick up. The train set out a locomotive and a couple intermodal cars to make a DXNL train at Dexter headed to North Little Rock. The dang UP 4859 led them again this trip. Yard Center likes putting that particular unit on the front all the time, which I hate.

Description:  The Katy and the Mo-Pac follow UP 4859 on UP Train ZYCHO 19 just south of Bernie. After getting corrective information about their axle count from the UP Omaha Dispatcher, the train could exceed 35 mph, permission they received about this time because they really notched out the throttle here and rode along by another Cotton Field.

Description:  As I saw UP Train MPIPB 24 round the curve I noticed that the second unit was one of the three remaining patched CNW C41-8's. It turned out to be UP 9087 ex-CNW 8575 with most of the UP Features removed!

Title:  UP 9087 Ex-CNW 8575 C41-8
Description:  It appears UP 9087 (ex-CNW 8575) has been nearly reunpatched by NS with new numbers in place of the UP ones on the cab, new 8575 numberboards, CNW 8575 on the rear of the long hood, and the UP Shield is almost gone off the nose. Thanks to whoever reunpatched CNW 8575! It is still technically UP 9087, but that might change if it loses more UP Parts of the patch job.
