I Wish They Would Move This Hack Closer
Title:  I Wish They Would Move This Hack Closer
Description:  Every time I visit Ford Yard, the resident Soo Line center-cupola caboose is always way up in the yard by the auto parts boxcars, which means I always have to use maximum zoom. Wish they would move it down closer to the yard office!

Tracks That Didn't Cross The Old Man
Title:  Tracks That Didn't Cross The Old Man
Description:  It is said the Milwaukee Road almost built another river crossing between Saint Paul and Minneapolis down from the Ford Plant. Today this track points westward towards a crossing that never came to be. This piece is part of a tail track that splits off the Ford Branch near Return Court.

Won't See These Here Next Year
Title:  Won't See These Here Next Year
Description:  Auto racks sit on storage tracks near Return Court. By next year these will not be parked here due to the Ford Plant finally giving up the ghost in December 2011. Footbridge connects neighborhood on north side to school on south. Grade crossing is for Edgcumbe Road. Note the vintage Milwaukee Road switch stand in the right background. Tracks curving away in left foreground lead to the doomed plant.

Title:  Coal Power
Description:  A GE and EMD on the point of a loaded eastbound coal train sit with their engines idle after meeting an empty westbound coal job. In a few minutes the hogger will bring them alive and depart as soon as the track warrant arrives. I had no time to wait to see this, and catch the DPU on the back, because I had pizza to get home!

Title:  Heading Away With The Sky Tower In The Distance
Description:  Once again a train passes Bandana Square within sight of the Minnesota State Fair Sky Tower. In this case a mixed freight with a lone NS unit on the point. Oddly enough, I saw the tail end of this train as it sat stopped just northwest of the U of M Transitway bridge past Union Junction. Must have hit a red signal.
