Rebuilt in 6/1978 from ex-CR 6874 (exx-PC 6874,exxx-PR 6874, nee-PRR Alco RSD-12 #8674), it became Conrail MT6 #1100 (MT6 = Motor Trailer 6-axle). For a brief time, Conrail #1100 originally was numbered Conrail #6820. Eventually the slug became NS 970. Specs - 58' 13/4" length, 40" wheels, tractive effort of 158,000 lb, no horn, bell or parking brake. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
