CN 4-8-4 #6153
Title:  CN 4-8-4 #6153
Description:  H. L. Goldsmith found this powerful locomotive stored in the scrap line at Turcot Yard in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in May of 1929 (serial #67782), it was one of the hundreds of 4-8-4 Confederations (CN's label for a Northern) that roared across the Canadian land. It sat in the scrap line until it was rescued from the scrapper's torch when it was sent to the Canadian Railway Museum in Delson/Saint-Constant, Quebec, Canada.

CN 4-8-4 #6225
Title:  CN 4-8-4 #6225
Description:  At this point in its life, it still has a shine on its boiler shroud and fairly clean whitewall wheels indicative of its valued service to CN. The loco was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in December of 1942, serial #69790, class U-2-g. The loco continued in service for another two years after this photo before meeting the scrapper's torch in May of 1960.

CN 4-8-4 #6227
Title:  CN 4-8-4 #6227
Description:  Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in December of 1942 (serial #69792, U-2-g class), this locomotive had a longer service record than most of its fellow 4-8-4's. The unit lasted in service until being scrapped in September of 1961. H. L. Goldsmith caught this beautiful machine at the Turcot Yard in Montreal with a full head of steam and ready to roll out.
