SLSF 2-8-2 #4106 - St Louis-San Francisco
Title:  SLSF 2-8-2 #4106 - St Louis-San Francisco
Description:  Interesting sideline to this 1919 Lima built 2-8-2 Mikado is they were originally built for the Pennsylvania RR but Pennsy rejected 33 of them so the USRA then re-assigned 26 of them to the SLSF roster and the rest to the MoPac. All in the group were scrapped between 1948-56.Arthur B. Johnson photo

SLSF 2-10-0 #1632 - St Louis-San Francisco (Frisco)
Title:  SLSF 2-10-0 #1632 - St Louis-San Francisco (Frisco)
Description:  This loco getting ready to take a spin on the turntable at Clinton, MO, was part of the canceled Russion decapod order due to the Russian Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. If eventually was rebuilt to fit US rails and sold to the Frisco as their #1632. After over 30 years of service, the loco (along with 1615,1621,1625 &1630) was sold to the Eagle Pciher Mining Company in October of 1951. In 1965, the loco was donated to the Smoky Hill Rwy & Historical Soceity of Ottawa, KS. Interestingly, I ran into this loco at the Belton, Grandview & Kansas City RR in Belton, MO, in 2015 as it sat on static display It was moved there in 1995 to make a nice addition to their static roster. (See my Belton, Grandview & Kansas City RR Museum album.) C.E. Winters photo
