Album Info:Pictures taken of Remnants of the Reading Railroad in the town of Pennington, NJ, (Mercer County) . The former Reading Line is now used by CSX and it is called their Trenton Line. October 17,2020 update, In March 2020, I contacted the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society with an inquiry about the physical layout of the some of the remnanats still in place. On October 13,2020, I recieved a reply from the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society. I would like to thank them for the information they provided to me which will be posted in the pictures in this album.

Description:  This foundation was stairs that appeared to go under the tracks to the other side. There is another foundation like this across the tracks and will be shown in tis album. I couldn't get rid of the grafitti here. please disregard it, Update, October 17,2020, this foundation was aprt of a pedestrian tunnel that went under the tracks here and across the street, Source Reading Company Technical & Historical Society leetr to me dated October 10, 2020

Description:  This is the second stairwell across the tracks from the previous picture. It is filled in as was the other stairwell. I believe the numbers 37/87 represent distance here 37 to NYC and 87 to Reading PA. October 17,2020 infromation from the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society on 37/87 as follows, This is measured from the bumper post at Reading Terminal and is mile post 37.87. This is correctsd from what I posted previously here about 37/87

Concrete & Wooden Supports
Title:  Concrete & Wooden Supports
Description:  Concrete and wooden supports opposite side from the station. I'm not sure what these were for. In Mitch Dakelman's book Reading Facilties Volume 1, page 88 shows a small wooden shelter. and two tracks with a wooden platform at track level. My guess these supports amy have been for the wooden shelter. October 17,2020 update, these concrete and wooden supports were aprt of a raised freight platform, source Redaing Company Technical & Historical Society letter to me dated October.10,2020.

Description:  This map was provided to me by the Reading CompanyTechnical & Historical Society showing what the area of their Pennington , NJ Station looked like. The pedestrian tunnel goes under the tracks from Knowles Ave, ( Now called Broemel Avenue as per the RCT&HS map shown here). The grade crossing was eliminated 1936-1937 by constructing the pedestrian underepass. The freight platform are the squares shown in the upper portion of this diagram. Date of this diagram isn't known. A platform is shown between the tracks, and a shelter directly acrosos the tracks from the station. Refer to RCT&HS letter dated October 10,2020 in this album.
