A very rare move. A pair of switchers for Westlake Chemical in Aberdeen had to be turned per KCS since wheel flanges on one side of the engine were worn down quite a bit and was picking a switch inside the plant often. With that being said, a good friend (engineer for westlake) advised me and another friend the KCS would have a pilot ride with them on the mainline down to Yokohama tire in West point (about 9 miles one way) on the Aberdeen branch, turn them on the wye and ride back north in reverse. This was cool! |
