Description:  A beautiful example of a Montreal Locomotive Works 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive built in October of 1942, sits in the Stratford, Ontario, Canada, yard. The sharp looking and powerful locomotive was comfortable heading up an express passenger train until relegated to the scrappers in June of 1961. H.L. Goldsmith as it sits in the dead/scrap line in the Stratford, Ontario yard, it waits for the scrapper's torch which finally comes in November of 1961. Specs - serial #68716, U-4-a class, 77" drivers, impressive 275 psi boiler pressure, 24x30" cylinders, engine weight of 280,280 lb, tractive effort of 52,457 lb.
