Shown here (L to R) are New Jersey Transit engine #4878, AMTK engine #4908, and three other units whose numbers are not recorded. All are GG-1's built by the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata Shops and rated at 4,620 horsepower each. #4878 was built in February of 1939 and originally numbered "4878," whereas #4908 was built in August of 1940 and originally numbered "4907." |
