Album Info:New York Susquehanna & Western Central Division CNYK Main MP117.76 - Tusten thru truss bridge Tusten, New York, USA 27 April 2017 - 09:13 EDST The main objective of this BH-1's journey was to test span deflection on the Tusten Bridge. The single tank car was fully laden. At the bridge spans, NYS&W and structural engineers had sent up laser measuring devices, and were using a radio controlled drone to record the testing. As only the locomotive and the tank car would be used in the test, the FP7A's were uncoupled about a hundred yards west (fouling the main) until the test was complete. (There was no other movements scheduled on CNYK). The locomotive and tank car were moved in 15 foot increments and measurements recorded. This was done three times (for a total of six 1/2 crossings (east-west-east-west-east-west and finally east with the FP7's for Stourbridge. I only took images for the first eastbound crossing, as I wanted to be set up at Lackawaxen for the drop off of the covered wagons. Don't let the pale look fool you.
