Album Info:Here is a two-page article entitled "The 'Cat's Whiskers.'" It was published originally in the February 1954 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, pages 10-11. No author is specified. "But the 'whiskers' are none of these. They are the antennae of the PRR's Clearance Car, and they were designed to measure clearance through tunnels, beneath bridges, between rock cuts, and other potential obstructions along the 25,000 miles of track on the System in practically the same way as a cat's whiskers help it to determine whether it can crawl through a hole." Also included are four 35mm color slides depicting this unique contraption; the photographer's name(s), the dates, and the locations are provided when available.
