Album Info:Located in Arden, Washington County, PA. The PA Trolley Museum was founded in 1954 and now owns more than 50 trolleys, streetcars, electric railways cars, maintenance vehicles, locomotives, and rolling stock pieces. Also they own approximately 4 miles of track for live action.

Title:  Armco B-73 (1)
Description:  On display at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Arden, Washington County, PA. An oil/electric 78 ton locomotive built in 1930 as a joint effort by Baldwin and Westinghouse. Started service at the USS Cuyahoga Works and was there until 1942 when it was bought by ARMCO Steel. The original motor was replaced with a 400HP Hamilton in 1947. It now weighs 67.5 tons. Donated to the museum in 1970 when the locomotive was rendered obsolete by newer and larger diesels. This remains in operating condition and is used to move around the standard gauge rolling stock owned by the museum.

Description:  Caboose on display at the Pennsylvania Trolley Musuem in Ardern. Built in January 1949 by International Car Company, Kenton, Ohio. I am told the Monongahela Railway logo will be painted back onto this soon. It has been this green color six years now so I have my doubts!

Description:  Port Authority Transit 4004 running the rails of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Arden, Washington County. Built by the St. Louis Car Company in 1949. Description:  A vintage Pittsburgh Railways Company 1711 is running the rails of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum on a beautiful evening, just past the 151 signal. PRC 1711 was built in 1949 by the St. Louis Car Company and was in active service until 1988. Acquired by the museum in 1990. This trolley is running on part of the same Washington to Pittsburgh route that it did when it was first put into service. Any fan of old power poles will certainly enjoy seeing the ones on this route.

It had a long career with that company until 1990 when it was placed in storage. It arrived at the trolley museum in 2002 after a long restoration. Features twin Cummins 150hp diesel engines. Built for power rather than speed, it could only go 20 mph tops. This remains in operating condition and is used to move around the standard gauge rolling stock owned by the museum.

Description:  Red Arrow Lines 66 is doing a short test run on the rails of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum before starting passenger runs for the day. This car was built in 1926 by the J.G. Brill Company and served Philadelphia and West Chester and successor, Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company, for over 40 years. It had a long life in South America until the 1960's when many of these similar models were sold to various organizations in the USA. After going through three different owners in this country, it was bought by the museum at auction in 2006.
