Album Info:The Great Western experienced unprecedented growth in the mid-2000's. The short trains for single shippers were replaced by unit trains, leased power and run through power from the major railroads. By 2010, GWR 2243 was the only unit left in GWR paint.

Description:  The GWR based one unit at Longmont. If there were cars to be switched, a crew drove to Longmont, fired up the engine and did their work. The interchange with the BNSF was less than a mile away. Any train movement between Johnstown and Longmont was very rare....the 3500 and 4327 approach the small yard at Longmont.
