The CGW also passed through Portage up until it was merged into the C&NW and was abandoned in 1971. Up until the late 1960s, there was a tower located here, staffed by IC personnel. In June, 1992, BN purchased the westbound main from the Chicago Central & Pacific and assumed dispatching of both mains. |
