Small C&O power
Title:  Small C&O power
Description:  The big stuff gets the attention-the streamlined pacific, the 4-8-4s, some of the early diesels. Yet it is these smaller engines that are just as important in getting the work done, such as this 4-6-0.

Description:  Dad had a lot of different cameras, as he was something of a collector. We went on this West Shore trip in 1983, and dad took along his 4x5. We stopped for a runby at Iona Island on the way back, and dad made this photo with it.

Park railroad
Title:  Park railroad
Description:  The lettering says "B&B RR", but there is no such road in real life. This was the small train that ran on Toronto Island. I think dads interest was not so much the engine as it was the engineer.

Just a blur
Title:  Just a blur
Description:  As noted in a previous caption, they like the Ps 4s at the Smithsonian. This one is an HO model, running on a layout at the museum. The blur is partly a train too fast for the shutter speed in low light, partly because its moving.
