Description:  Former Long Island Railroad bay window caboose C-68, constructed in 1963 by Morrison International, was open for viewing during the Railroad Museum of Long Island's Riverhead Railroad Days. This caboose is one of three currently on the property.

BEDT 16
Title:  BEDT 16
Description:  Constructed by Porter in 1923 for Astoria Power & Light, this locomotive last saw service working for the Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal Railroad along New York Harbor. According to the museum, this engine is notable for being both the last steam locomotive in the East to operate in non preservation for a railroad and the last steam locomotive to operate within the limits of New York City. A long term restoration project of the museum, the bell was available for ringing via a cord this day.

Description:  One of the Long Island Railroad's former M-1 MU cars, constructed by Budd as part of a large order between 1967 and 1973 to replace aging equipment. These state of the art cars in their day have since been replaced by new M-7 cars in recent years.

The Scoot
Title:  The Scoot
Description:  The LIRR Ronkonkoma-Greenport shuttle, also known as the Scoot, pulls into town, passing some of RMLI's rolling stock on display. This train only operates a few roundtrips a day over the eastern portion of the LIRR, this time shuttling a lot of passengers between RMLI's Riverhead and Greenport museum sites.

Description:  Constructed in 1955, this former Long Island Railroad P72 commuter car now calls the Railroad Museum of Long Island home. Parked across from the LIRR Riverhead commuter station, this coach is undergoing restoration as time and funds permit.

LIRR 2907
Title:  LIRR 2907
Description:  Built by Pullman Standard in 1955 for Long Island Railroad commuter service, this car lasted on passenger trains until the 1980's. It was later converted to MOW work spreading Sandite along the rails to prevent trains from slipping. Later retired by the MTA, it was acquired by the Twin Forks Chapter NRHS which is currently restoring it at the Railroad Museum of Long Island.

PRR 759
Title:  PRR 759
Description:  The newest addition to the RMLI fleet, this former PRR boxcar came from Wellsboro, PA where it had sat on display for many years as part of the Tioga Central historical equipment collection. It will be returned back upright onto its trucks in the near future.

Title:  LIRR 1398
Description:  This former Long Island Railroad MP54 combine MU now serves as the office of the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce. Constructed by the Pennsylvania Railroad during their control of the LIRR, this MU is one of four to survive today out of 923 constructed for service on the island.
