Built by EMD in June of 1972 as Penn Central GP38-2 #7973, it slid over to the Conrail roster as their #7972. From there, it was sold to the EMD Leasing and renumbered EMDX #772 seen here. | Description: |
Built by EMD in February of 1966 as PRR SD40 #6079, it moved into the Penn Central roster as PC #6078 after the collapse of PRR and NYC. From there, it landed on the Conrail roster as CR #6331. After that it was a true boomer loco as it bounced onto several rosters. Here it's part of the EMD Leasing program. Thanks to Michael Fiser Jr, the photo has been identified as taken by Tom Boylan at Willard, OH. Thanks Mike for being patient while I updated this page. |

Great looking fresh paint on this EMD Leasing loco. Built by EMD in February of 1966 as PRR SD40 #6042, it became Penn Central #6042. After the PC collapse, it moved over to the Conrail as CR SD40 #6295. After that, it became a boomer loco as it bounced from one roster to another. Here it was a fresh addition to the EMD Leasing roster. Thanks to Michael Fiser Jr for letting me know that this photo was taken by his friend Tom Boylan at the Willard Yard in Ohio. Covered with a heavy layer of road grime is EMDX SD40-2 #6347. It was originallyu built by EMD in July of 1973 as MILW SD40-2 174. It was sold to EMD Leasing sometime after 1988 and was renumbered EMDX 6347 as seen in this photo. It was again sold to Wheeling & Lake Erie where it still serves. Fred Stuckman has taken multiple photos of this loco in and around Akron, OH. Thanks to Michael Fiser Jr for letting me know that his father, Michael Fiser Sr took this photo.
