Album Info:This was the title of a fantrip run by the Tri State NRHS on August 11 1985, from Newark NJ to Conrail's Selkirk Yard near Albany NY, and return to Newark. The route was unusual: Newark Penn Station to Shell tower in New Rochelle NY via the Northeast Corridor behind E 60's, then change engines and direction, a trio of CR B23-7's taking over to pull the train to Mott Haven, around the wye, then up the Hudson Line to Castleton, where it took the connection to the Boston Line, over the bridge and into Selkirk Yard. There, Conrail opened up the shop for a tour, showing a variety of motive power and equipment, as well as explaining what work was done there. The trip returned to Newark via the West Shore.

Dutch door view
Title:  Dutch door view
Description:  Back in the day, most long distance equipment had Dutch doors, which allowed one to stand in the vestibule and get a fresh air ride. It was also great for checking out the train. Here the return trip has left Selkirk and is now heading south on the River Line. It will stop shortly for a run by.

Run by
Title:  Run by
Description:  The southbound trip did a runby at New Baltimore, the only one on the trip. The weather was dismal, and the timing was also an issue, so this was the only one. It was well attended.

Hudson River Streamliner
Title:  Hudson River Streamliner
Description:  Tri State NRHS rana trip in August 1985 that ran from Newark Penn Station to Shell tower in New Rochellle NY, changed power to three CR B23s, then ran to Mott Haven, around the wye and up the Hudson to Castleton, where it went up the connection and across the river to Selkirk. Following a shop tour, the train returned to Jersey via the River Line. It was an interesting route, and was well patronized. We see the crowd returning to the train after the Conrail tour at Selkirk.
